First time customer

A real success. The quote process was easy. We did a live video tour. The team turned up bang on time, loaded the van in 30 minutes. They took just under 2 hours to unload. Boxes delivered to the right rooms. Unpacked as agreed, hanging my clothes straight into the wardrobes. They took away all the cardboard, hopefully for recycling. Calm and polite throughout. I only had some furniture so it was a light move.

Removal, storage and redeliver in a week

I honestly can't thank the team - Daniel, Billy, Dale and Michael - enough for their professionalism, their respect towards me and my possessions (Vanity Fair...I take that one), and also their kindness. When you're on your own to have people go beyond that extra mile to look out for you means so much. And beyond that - Billie-Jane, Amy and Terence at head offuce have always been on hand and responded immediately to any concerns and have been totally transparent and instrumental in delivering a great service. Total professionals as far as I'm concerned. I can't recommend them highly enough - and a big thank you to all the team. Again - I have to thank my packers/deliverers - who needs John Lewis!

Unfortunately not the Gentlemen I was looking for...

I usually never leave a bad review to any service as I believe it would be wasting more of my time, however there was an incentive offered for the review.

I contacted Gentleman and a Van because I loved their name and I really wanted to deal with Gentlemen for a relatively small move within London.

My first contact with Billie-Jane on the phone has been an absolute pleasure and it is why I decided to choose this company for my removal.

On the day of the removal, the men arrived on time, however I unfortunately did not meet with the Gentlemen I expected. Among the two men, one man has been an absolute savage, he screamed on me as I was finishing to pack the last two boxes because 'the time was passing quick and he had a 40 minutes drive afterwards'' (time for which I paid as they spend 2h40minutes and was billed for 3 hours.)

After being rude, this man waited in the Van and did not come back in the flat, when I realised I have been too nice in my answer to this man, I wanted to go to him and remind him what professionalism means, however his colleague silently asked me to stay cool which I did while trying to keep the spirit of efficiency.

After screaming on me and being very rude, they then delivered my belongings to the new address where the landlady was waiting for them. The same man bullied and misspoke to the very kind landlady who felt intimidated when he unnecessarily requested her house keys in a rude manner and with an aggressive body language (came within 10cm of her face squaring his shoulders).

Finally, while reviewing my belongings, I had few plants, two have been damaged and one has been fully killed (they left a piece (half) of the broken wooden stick in the pot of another plant).

Moreover on 8 expensive floor lamps, 2 have been damaged beyond repair (bent in a way that cannot be fixed).

Hoping this Polish man with a beard will understand that being rude towards customers (and ladies....) paying this type of price is just unprofessional and unacceptable. It is important to remember that as foreigners working and living in the UK we are representing the standards of the nations we come from and of the companies we work for.

This review is strictly objective with no exaggerations and I am ready to have a call with their services if it can avoid anybody else to have the same experience.

After this experience, and given the price I paid, I can only recommend you to try another company except if you want to take the chance to deal with a 'Savage and a Van'.

Just an amazing company and service!

So glad we used Gentleman & A Van again. Just an incredible service with a team of six who were extremely professional, caring and so helpful. We asked for both packing and removals again and are so glad we did. It takes all the effort and stress away and the team were very fast and conscientious. We also booked storage. Thank you to Amy and Tom for handling my booking and last minute change in date. Terrific company. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

Great Service

I used G&aV for a relatively small move but everything about them was professional, efficient and clear from the start, from the initial communication with Billie-Jane to the guys who did the actual move (whose names I can't remember!). Everyone was polite and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. They were also extremely good value for money. I would highly recommend and will definitely use them again.

Fantastic Man & Van Service

The guys at Gentleman & A Van were fantastic helping me and my housemates move from SW London to East London, they loaned us extra boxes and brought plenty of protective gear for our items during the journey, and they were very friendly and chatty during the process.

The move was efficient and a lot less stressful than it would have been if we did it ourselves! This is my second time moving house with Gentleman & A Van, and I recommend them every time I hear someone is moving.

Billie-Jane was also very friendly over the phone and made the booking process very straight-forward. Thanks team and I'll see you again next time! :)

Great removals service

I used Gentleman and a Van to pack and move the contents of a one-bedroom flat from London to Wiltshire. The quote was very reasonable and everything went smoothly - the team of two turned up on time and were very efficient, friendly and obliging. I haven't unpacked yet as my items are in storage so can't comment on how well they were packed but based on the service so far I don't anticipate any problems.

Fantastic service

I used Gentlemen and a Van for a move within London and could not have been more impressed. The move was complicated as a large amount of (mainly valuable, antique) furniture was going to two different destinations. The crew took great care to make sure everything went to its correct destination, and didn’t make a single error. They were efficient, neat, friendly and polite throughout. I particularly appreciated how communicative they were, eg double- and triple-checking the instructions, informing me when they were going to take a short comfort break. Would highly recommend.

Exemplary from start to finish!

I have used Gentleman & A Van for a number of moves down the years and every time they are exemplary from start to finish. We were moving houses recently and needed things kept in storage and nothing was a hassle or too difficult for them to accommodate. Every employee was chipper and well-mannered and never complained once about moving large quantities of stuff up and down difficult stair wells... I would recommend them very highly to anyone looking to move as you can always expect great employees, great attitudes and great service at a very reasonable price all in!

Moved from London to Kendal in Cumbria by this excellent and swift service. They even took care of all the small details such as booking parking space in London's busy bouroughs for the vans and arranging loading times to suit our travel plans. The team who loaded/unloaded our boxes were friendly and fast, nothing was too muuch trouble including the shifting of an insitu wardrobe from one room to another in our new home. My wife and I were absolutely delighted, they made the whole moving experience a delight. Managing our move with courtesy and confidence, I have already recommended Gentleman and a Van to friends and shall continue to do so.

Painless.

All went well. Best ever company used. No swearing and nothing was too much trouble. No damage and no hassle. Everything was beautifully wrapped and protected before it left the house. I would have appreciated a call to confirm that all was as planned , likely arrival time, name of guys etc so I called instead the day before. I would definitely recommend this small, courteous outfit. I used them after I witnessed a neighbours move and store by Gentleman and a Van. A treat was that they unpacked the larger things and positioned them perfectly with no pressure or rush.

Rude and rushed job!

Gentleman and a van are a waste of money for what they offer! Very exspensive and the job they did was crap. Did not pack china and ornaments properly resulting in a few very exspensive items breaking. They seemed to rush everything and wanted to get the job done quickly. The removal men were not that friendly and two in particular were rude and snappy and short when asked to do things. Obviously moving is a very stressful time as it is and you expect after paying ALOT of money, that you are going to get a good service and friendly, helpful removal men! Will not be recommending this company to anyone at all as felt they are a waste of money!

I moved within Earlsfield last week and was very happy with the service provided by Gentleman and a Van.

The service and communication was clear and accurate from start to finish.

The crew on the day were great, Jo, Cody and Paul. We had a late completion so it meant a swift move and unpacking which we managed well.

Making the job straight-forward

Best decision we made was hiring them

Such a lovely, efficient and friendly team. Lloyd and the gang were absolutely 10/10, never grumbling about how many boxes of books there were or how tall and narrow the staircase. Turned up early, wrapped mattress to protect and were on their way in minutes. Arrived Sussex within quoted time and were lovely - especially to excited daschund at delivery address.
